For now, you may want to consider creating child specific services, such as a "Child Haircut", so when your Client receives the notification, it says for a "Child Haircut" and they'll know it's for their child.

Is there was a way I can stop clients from booking same day appointments?
As long as there is availability on your schedule, clients can book with you. What you may consider doing is blocking your schedule the day of, that way clients won’t be able to book with you and are instructed to call you or view the next 3 open times based on your availability.
